Billing, cancellation and refunds
The mechanics are clear. So is the rule on refunds.
How pricing, recurring charges, cancellation, and refunds work at Undersold, described the same way the product behaves.
Price before checkout
Checkout is never the first place the price appears.
Undersold reads each active Starter or Premium amount and recurring cadence from a verified Stripe Price. The same amount is shown on the pricing and upgrade surface before checkout can start. If that Price cannot be verified, the product blocks checkout instead of revealing an unknown amount inside Stripe.
The amount and cadence visible immediately before checkout govern that purchase. Prices can change for future billing periods. If the price of a plan you are subscribed to changes, we will tell you before the renewal that charges the new amount, so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.
Amounts are shown in US dollars. Any tax that applies is handled at checkout by Stripe and shown before you pay.
Subscription
Starter and Premium are recurring subscriptions.
Stripe collects payment details and returns subscription status to Undersold. Undersold does not store full card numbers. Paid access is granted only after Stripe confirms a paid or otherwise valid subscription state; a success-looking URL alone does not grant access.
Current Free, Starter, and Premium features and usage allowances appear on the pricing page. Product configuration can limit some features, including live voice usage, by billing period.
Plan changes
Upgrades can be immediate; decreases wait for renewal.
A Starter to Premium monthly upgrade is requested immediately with Stripe's prorated invoice. Premium access begins only after that invoice is paid. A downgrade, cancellation, or cadence change is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, so the current paid access continues to that boundary.
Premium can be billed monthly or quarterly. Quarterly is $297 every three months: the same monthly price, with double the monthly allowance rate pooled across the quarter. It can be chosen at checkout on the pricing page, and active monthly Premium subscribers may also switch from their account; a switch starts at the next renewal.
Cancellation
Subscription controls live in the account billing portal.
A signed-in subscriber with a billing account can open Stripe's billing portal from the Undersold account page to review invoices, update a payment method, cancel, or resume where Stripe permits it.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep full paid access until that date. We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not require notice.
Generated and free-tier work remains accessible after cancellation. New paid generation controls turn off when access ends.
Failed payments
Saved work stays available while new paid operations pause.
If Stripe reports a past-due or failed-payment state, Undersold keeps existing resumes and job-search materials readable and exportable. New billable operations stay blocked until Stripe confirms that the subscription is active again.
The account page shows when billing needs attention and links to the Stripe billing portal where available. New paid generation pauses as soon as a payment fails, not when the subscription finally lapses. Your saved work stays readable and exportable the whole time.
Stripe retries the payment over several days, and updating your card normally turns generation back on within a few minutes. If it does not, contact support and we will restore it by hand. If the subscription does lapse, your saved work stays where it is and resubscribing turns paid features back on.
Refunds
Payments are final; cancel any time to stop the next one.
Undersold does not offer refunds for payments already made. Because you can cancel at any time and keep access through the end of the period you paid for, the way to avoid a charge is to cancel before it renews.
Two exceptions. Where the law where you live gives you a refund or cancellation right that cannot be waived, that right applies and this section does not limit it. And if you were charged because something on our side went wrong, a duplicate charge or a plan you never received access to, write to us and we will make it right.
When we do issue a full refund, the subscription stops renewing and your paid access runs to the end of the period that was refunded, rather than cutting off the moment the money goes back. A partial refund is a credit against a period you keep, so it changes nothing about access or renewal.
Before starting a card dispute, please contact us first. A dispute takes weeks and locks the amount in place while it runs, and opening one ends paid access immediately and cancels the subscription: a chargeback is handled as a withdrawal from the service, not as a support request. We answer every billing message we receive, and nothing about your access changes while we look into it.
Billing help
Use the account controls first; escalate confirmed failures.
For cancellation, invoices, or payment-method changes, start with the account billing portal. If a completed payment does not unlock the selected plan, wait for the built-in confirmation check to finish or refresh once so the product can reconcile the confirmed checkout, then use the support page.
Do not email card numbers, bank details, authentication links, or full resume content. We never need any of those to fix a billing problem.
